The best game console for a kid's gift

 Choosing the right toy for your child is something that many parents have considered. Some people seem to get it just right as they go along, while others seem to stress about it and feel anxious about the decision. I think firstly the gift needs to be something that the child is interested in, such as a child's hand-held game console, like a drawing board and brushes, like a doll set. It is entirely up to the child's preference, but I feel that the vast majority of children will not turn down this children's toy - a handheld game console for kids.

I always try to stick to the guidelines I set myself, including what they want, what to add, what I choose and what is educational.

So usually this includes some form of fashion item or a brand-new toy that is 'hot' on the market and the kids are drooling over it. We don't go overboard, but I do like to remove things from their list that I would never choose for myself. It's exciting and fun to see them unpacking the best of what they want. Even if the item will be forgotten or relegated to play date material in a few months. It may not be an expensive item, but it's certainly something they crave.

The things I choose are a little subjective but usually represent things I like and am happy to see on the floor, things I know I would enjoy using or playing with that are more likely to be used, or things I don't think they would bring up but would actually like, which really considers the parent's ability to observe.

Finally, something educational. For us, it's always been games, puzzles and educational activities. It's like this handheld game console for kids, although it's not expensive, it has become the favourite toys for kids when received by the child. I have compared it in terms of choice, and I think it's perfectly adequate for a 10-year-old to hold his attention, develop his hand-eye coordination and strengthen his self-control.
